TC FOOTBALL WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON AGAINST SCECINA. Class 2A No. 8 Triton Central overcame early offensive struggles Friday night to defeat Indianapolis Scecina, 27–7, behind a historic rushing performance from senior Braden Brown. Filling in at quarterback for the injured Matthew Wilkins, Brown shouldered the offensive load and delivered a school-record 387 rushing yards and four touchdowns, powering the Tigers to their eighth win of the season. Triton Central took an early 6–0 lead on its opening possession when Brown found the end zone on a short run. The Tigers’ extra-point attempt missed, and Scecina’s defense tightened to keep the score within reach at halftime. In the second half, Brown took over. The senior broke free for touchdown runs of 34, 80, and 73 yards, breaking Thad McClusky’s long-standing single-game rushing record of 370 yards, set in 1996 against Lawrenceburg. Scecina’s only points came in the third quarter, when quarterback Bryce McDonald connected with Eric Montgomery for a touchdown. With the win, Triton Central closed the regular season 8–1 and will open IHSAA Sectional #38 play Friday at Centerville (7–2). In junior varsity action Saturday, Alexandria edged Triton Central 35–33. The Tigers’ JV squad finished its season 3–6.
