TC BOYS TENNIS BEATS COVENANT CHRISTIAN. Triton Central’s varsity boys tennis team leaned on its doubles strength Monday night, pulling out a hard-fought 3-2 road victory over Covenant Christian. The Tigers dropped two of the three singles matches but swept doubles play to secure the win. At No. 3 singles, Bradyn Robinson cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Eli Kegeris to get TC on the board. The No. 1 doubles team of Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire battled to a 7-5, 6-1 win, while the No. 2 duo of Drayton Kermode and Graham Gast delivered the deciding point in dramatic fashion, rallying from a set down to win 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2. Covenant Christian’s Max Carter (No. 1 singles) and Zach Malek (No. 2 singles) claimed their matches to account for the Warriors’ points. With the victory, Triton Central’s varsity record improves to 9-5 on the season. In junior varsity action, the Tigers were dominant, sweeping Covenant Christian 8-0. Cash Eck picked up a pair of singles wins, while TC swept through six doubles courts led by strong efforts from the pairings of Talan Canter/Colton Ayres, Owen Rice/Rylan Anderson, and Brylon Scott/Jason Gregory.
