VOLLEYBALL VS. HERITAGE CHRISTIAN (9/6)

TC VOLLEYBALL BATTLES IN LOSS TO HERITAGE CHRISTIAN, JV WINS. The Triton Central volleyball program had a busy Saturday morning on the road at Heritage Christian, where the varsity squad pushed the hosts to the limit before falling in a five-set thriller, while the junior varsity Tigers collected a straight-set victory. In varsity action, Triton Central jumped out strong with a 25-14 win in the opening set. Heritage Christian responded with a 25-19 victory in the second to even the match. The Tigers regained momentum in the third with a 25-20 win, but the hosts forced a decisive fifth set after taking the fourth 25-21. Heritage Christian then closed the door with a 15-8 win in the final set, securing the 3-2 match victory. Lucy May led the Triton Central offense with 11 kills, while setter Audrey Darlage tallied 18 assists to help guide the attack. Defensively, Alaina Darlage recorded 20 digs, and Gwyn Williams provided a spark from the service line with four aces. With the loss, the varsity Tigers move to 8-5 on the season. The junior varsity Tigers picked up a strong 2-0 win over Heritage Christian. They claimed the first set 25-19 before finishing the match with a 25-17 victory. Keely O’Gara anchored the defense with 13 digs and also added three aces, matching Ryn West’s team-high from the service line. Anna Kemper ran the offense with 12 assists, and Maecy Cord delivered six kills at the net. The JV Tigers now stand at 6-2 overall. Triton Central returns to action tonight at home against Morristown. The JV match is set for 6 PM, with varsity to follow at approximately 7 PM.
