TC VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 3RD AT LAWRENCEBURG TOURNAMENT. The Triton Central volleyball team put together a strong showing Saturday at the Lawrenceburg Tournament, finishing the day with a 2-1 record and earning a third-place finish. The Tigers opened pool play with a 2-0 victory over Scott High School from Kentucky. TC controlled both sets, winning 25-20 in the opener before finishing off the match with a 25-16 victory. Triton Central then faced the host Lawrenceburg in its second pool-play match. The Tigers battled through a tight opening set before falling 27-25. TC responded with a dominant 25-10 victory in the second set, forcing a deciding third set. Lawrenceburg ultimately won the third set 15-10 to hand the Tigers their only loss of the tournament. The Tigers bounced back in the crossover match, earning a convincing 2-0 sweep over East Central to claim third place. TC won both sets by identical 25-15 scores. May Sets New Career Kills Record The tournament also featured a historic accomplishment for Triton Central senior Lucy May. May broke the Triton Central volleyball career kills record previously held by Maddie Brown, who recorded 903 career kills from 2019-2022. May entered the weekend within reach of the record and surpassed it during Saturday's tournament. Following the tournament, May has 921 career kills, establishing a new Triton Central volleyball career record. May also led the Tigers with 29 kills during Saturday's tournament. Anna Kemper recorded 60 assists, while Kate Collier contributed 10 aces. Alaina Darlage anchored the defense with 25 digs, and Addy Gibbs added six blocks. With the 2-1 tournament performance, Triton Central improves to 12-6 on the season. The Tigers will return home Tuesday night when they host Heritage Christian. The JV match is scheduled for 6 PM, with the varsity match to follow. After finishing third at the Lawrenceburg Tournament and celebrating a new career record, TC will look to carry that momentum into Tuesday night's matchup with Heritage Christian.
