TC BOYS GOLF WINS SHELBY COUNTY TOURNAMENT. Triton Central continued its dominance of Shelby County boys golf Friday night, winning the Shelby County Tournament at The Links Golf Club with a team score of 168. The championship marked the Tigers’ fourth straight county title and the 22nd county championship in program history. The Tigers placed four golfers inside the top nine individually and used outstanding consistency throughout the lineup to separate themselves from the field. Waldron finished second with a 197, followed by Southwestern at 201 and Morristown at 203. Max Crouse led the way for Triton Central with a round of 40, finishing runner-up overall in the tournament. Colton Ayres and Hayden Beaver each carded strong rounds of 41 to tie for third place, giving the Tigers three golfers at 41 or better. Corbin Beaver added a 46 to round out the team scoring, while Ryder Trimble finished with a 48 as Triton Central showcased its depth on its home course. Morristown’s Eli Graves earned medalist honors with a tournament-best 39, but Triton Central’s balanced lineup proved to be the difference in securing another county championship. Triton Central will return to The Links on Monday night for Senior Night as the Tigers host Waldron. Tee time is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
