TC BASEBALL FALLS TO SCECINA. Triton Central battled back late but could not overcome a big fifth inning by Scecina, falling 9-5 Thursday night at home. The Tigers and Crusaders traded runs early, with Triton Central picking up a run in the second inning to even the game at 1-1. Scecina added another run in the fourth before breaking the game open with a seven-run fifth inning to take control. Despite the deficit, the Tigers continued to fight and mounted a late rally with two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. Triton Central finished the night with seven hits and put pressure on Scecina throughout the final innings, but the comeback effort came up short. Kellan Dishman led the offense with a huge performance, going 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI. Rylan Anderson and Andrew Berry each collected two hits, with Berry also driving in a run. Brody Hartman added an RBI, while Cooper Alford contributed a hit and reached base multiple times after being hit by two pitches. On the mound, Kellan Dishman worked three innings, allowing three runs — only one earned — while striking out four. Brayden Hoover worked four innings, striking out seven while allowing just two earned runs. Defensively, the Tigers committed three errors, while Scecina played error-free baseball. Triton Central pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts in the contest, but Scecina capitalized on 10 walks and several key opportunities during the decisive fifth inning. With the loss, Triton Central falls to 6-13 on the season. The Tigers will look to bounce back Friday night when they host Heritage Christian. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
