TC GIRLS TENNIS SWEEPS OLDENBURG ON SENIOR NIGHT. Triton Central’s girls tennis team continued its strong late-season play Tuesday night, sweeping Oldenburg Academy 5-0 at home to improve to 15-2 on the season. The Tigers controlled the match from the beginning, earning straight-set victories in every varsity contest. At No. 1 singles, Maryrose Felling turned in a steady performance, defeating Lilly Vanderpohl 6-2, 6-2. Anniston Evans followed with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, while Zhibek Zhumaly continued her impressive season at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Triton Central’s doubles teams also delivered strong outings. At No. 1 doubles, Kate Collier and Neve Kahler battled through a competitive opening set before securing a 6-4, 6-3 win. The No. 2 pairing of Estelle Gearlds and Cadence Roberts controlled play throughout their match, earning a 6-3, 6-1 victory to complete the sweep. The junior varsity Tigers added another strong performance, defeating Oldenburg 3-0. Ellie Gast, Morgan Fisher, and Caydence Stout each cruised to 8-1 singles victories. With the win, Triton Central improves to 15-2 overall and carries momentum into one of its biggest matches of the season. The Tigers will travel to Indian Creek on Wednesday evening with the Hoosier Legends Conference championship on the line. Matches are scheduled to begin at 5 PM.
