BOYS GOLF VS. NEW PALESTINE (5/7)

TC BOYS GOLF FALLS TO NEW PALESTINE. Triton Central battled New Palestine in a tightly contested boys golf match Thursday night at Hawk’s Tail Golf Course, with the Dragons narrowly claiming the win on a tiebreaker after both teams finished with identical scores of 164. New Palestine earned the victory by virtue of a fifth-score tiebreaker, 44-52. The Tigers were led by an outstanding performance from Colton Ayres, who earned medalist honors with a stellar round of 38. Max Crouse also turned in a strong round for the Tigers, shooting a 39 to tie for second overall. Corbin Beaver added a 43, while Hayden Beaver carded a 44 to complete Triton Central’s scoring lineup. New Palestine matched the Tigers with a team score of 164 behind rounds of 39 from Gavin Berry, 41 from Jackson Smith, and a pair of 42s from Tyler Walter and Ajay Kropp. The Dragons secured the tiebreaker thanks to their fifth golfer’s score of 44 compared to Triton Central’s 52. Grant Long and Chance Uhls each shot 52 for the Tigers, while Devon Gurganus finished with a 55 and Ryder Trimble added a 56. The Tigers will now turn their attention to the Shelby County Tournament, which will be hosted next Friday night at The Links Golf Club with a scheduled start time of 4:30 PM.
