TC GIRLS TENNIS BEATS WALDRON, IMPROVES TO 11-0. Triton Central’s girls tennis team kept its undefeated season intact Friday night, defeating Waldron 4-1 on the road to improve to 11-0 overall. The Tigers once again leaned on their strong singles lineup, sweeping all three matches to take early control. At No. 1 singles, Maryrose Felling turned in a solid performance with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Riley Thurston. Anniston Evans was dominant at No. 2 singles, not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Zhibek Zhumaly continued her consistent play at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Waldron picked up its lone point at No. 1 doubles in a competitive three-set match, where Neve Kahler and Kate Collier battled but ultimately fell in a 10-4 super tiebreak after splitting the first two sets. Triton Central responded at No. 2 doubles, as Estelle Gearlds and Cadence Roberts delivered a strong performance, winning 6-0, 6-2 to secure the team victory. The junior varsity match ended in a 2-2 tie. Caydence Stout and Keely O’Gara earned an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, while Lexi Poole and Kenzie Hoover dominated their match at No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 victory. With the win, Triton Central improves to 11-0 on the season and continues to showcase its depth and consistency across the lineup. The Tigers will look to keep their unbeaten streak going Saturday morning when they travel to Mt. Vernon (Fortville) for a 9 AM start.
