TC BOYS BASKETBALL BEATS GREENSBURG ON HOMECOMING, JV FALLS. Triton Central used a strong defensive effort and a big night from Eli Sego to power past Greensburg 53-30 Friday night in varsity boys basketball action. With the win, the Tigers improve to 16-3 on the season. Triton Central set the tone early, building a 13-8 lead after the first quarter. The Tigers tightened up defensively in the second period, limiting Greensburg’s scoring opportunities while extending the advantage to 26-14 by halftime. TC continued to control the game in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 38-22 heading into the final frame before closing out the 23-point victory. Sego led all scorers with 27 points, continuing his standout season. Jackson Faust and Henry Kemper each added nine points to provide balanced support. Grant Long and Conner McClure contributed two points apiece, as did Brody Hartman and Brayden Hoover. JV Falls in Close Contest In the junior varsity matchup, Triton Central dropped a narrow 32-29 decision. Greensburg held a slim 9-6 lead after the first quarter and carried a 17-16 advantage into halftime. The Pirates maintained their edge in the third quarter at 25-22 and held on down the stretch to secure the win. Landon Bailey led the JV Tigers with 12 points, while Owen Hornberger added nine. Dominic Moore scored four points, and Dylan Showalter and Chace Calderone each chipped in two. The JV squad now stands at 11-6 on the year. Triton Central returns to action Tuesday night on the road at Monrovia. The JV game is scheduled for 6 PM, followed by varsity at 7:30 PM.
