BOYS BASKETBALL VS. EASTERN HANCOCK (1/31)

TC BOYS BASKETBALL SWEEP EASTERN HANCOCK ON THE ROAD. Triton Central turned in a strong all-around performance Saturday night, pulling away from Eastern Hancock for a 66-48 varsity victory while the junior varsity squad edged out a 28-24 win. Varsity: Triton Central 66, Eastern Hancock 48 The Tigers set the tone early, building a 19-11 lead after the first quarter behind sharp shooting and defensive pressure. Triton Central continued to control the tempo in the second quarter, stretching the advantage to 34-21 by halftime. Eastern Hancock attempted to chip away in the third, but TC maintained its cushion, leading 50-34 heading into the final frame. The Tigers closed things out efficiently in the fourth to secure the 18-point win and improve to 13-2 on the season. Eli Sego led the way with a dominant 30-point performance, pacing the Tigers offensively throughout the night. Jackson Faust added nine points, while Brayden Hoover contributed eight. Grant Long finished with seven points, and Chace Calderone chipped in six. Henry Kemper and Conner McClure each added two points, as did Dylan Showalter, rounding out a balanced scoring effort for Triton Central. JV: Triton Central 28, Eastern Hancock 24 The junior varsity game was a tightly contested battle from start to finish. TC held a slim 8-5 lead after the first quarter and carried a 14-12 advantage into halftime. The Tigers maintained a narrow edge throughout the second half, leading 20-18 after three quarters before closing out the four-point victory. Dylan Showalter led the JV squad with 12 points. Owen Hornberger added five, while Dominic Moore scored three. Conner Eubanks, Landon Bailey, Jayden Alplanalp, and Chace Calderone each contributed two points. With the win, the JV Tigers improve to 10-3 on the year. Up Next Triton Central returns to action Thursday night on the road at Covenant Christian. The JV game tips off at 6 PM, followed by varsity at 7:30 PM.
