TC GIRLS BASKETBALL SWEEPS OLDENBURG ON PINK-OUT, FELLING BREAKS CAREER RECORD. Triton Central’s 18th annual Pink-Out game Friday night was memorable in every way, as the Tigers defeated Oldenburg Academy 63–53 and senior Maryrose Felling etched her name into the record books. Oldenburg led 19–15 after the first quarter, but Triton Central answered in the second, taking a 31–27 lead into halftime. The Tigers extended their advantage to 48–40 by the end of the third quarter and maintained control in the fourth to secure the 10-point win. Felling delivered a historic performance, scoring 26 points. With her 14th point of the night, she broke both the LTB career scoring record and the Shelby County career scoring record, surpassing the previous mark of 1,702 points set by Triton Central’s Samantha Dewey (2011–15). Quinn King added 25 points to give the Tigers a powerful one-two punch offensively. Layla Compton scored six points, Kate Collier added four, and Cheyenne Allen chipped in two. The win pushes Triton Central’s varsity record to 17–3 on the season. In the junior varsity contest, Triton Central rolled to a 55–20 victory. The Tigers built a commanding 37–10 halftime lead and never looked back. Peyton Fillippinie and Maddie Burnett led the JV squad with 10 points each. Anna Kemper, Madison Swisher, and Eliana Joy added six points apiece, while Hayden McMichael and Rylee Pruitt each scored four. Ryn West, Kenzie Hoover, and Laiyla McLane rounded out the scoring. The TC JV team improves to 15–5 on the year. Triton Central will be back home Wednesday night for senior night against Covenant Christian. The junior varsity game is set for 6 PM, with varsity to follow at 7:15 PM.
