GIRLS BASKETBALL VS. GREENWOOD (1/20)

TC GIRLS BASKETBALL SWEEPS GREENWOOD Triton Central’s varsity girls basketball team delivered a dominant road performance Tuesday night, rolling past Greenwood 83–36. The Tigers took control early with a 13–7 first-quarter lead and exploded for 30 points in the second quarter to carry a 43–21 advantage into halftime. Triton Central continued to pour it on after the break, outscoring Greenwood 30–10 in the third quarter to stretch the margin to 73–31 before cruising to the 47-point victory. Maryrose Felling led all scorers with 32 points, while Quinn King added 17. Layla Compton finished with nine points, Cheyenne Allen scored seven, and Kate Collier added six. Lexi Eubanks chipped in five points, while Rylee Pruitt, Anna Kemper, Maddie Burnett, and Madison Swisher rounded out the scoring. With the win, Triton Central improves to 16–3 on the season. In the junior varsity contest, Triton Central put together a flawless two-quarter performance, shutting out Greenwood 49–0. The Tigers raced out to a 32–0 lead after the first quarter and never let Greenwood find the scoreboard. Maddie Burnett led the JV squad with 13 points, while Ryn West added 12. Hayden McMichael and Kenzie Hoover each scored seven, Peyton Fillippinie and Anna Kemper finished with four apiece, and Laiyla McLane rounded out the scoring with two. The TC JV team is now 14–5 on the year. Triton Central will return home Friday night to host Oldenburg Academy for the Tigers’ 18th annual Pink-Out game. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 6 PM, followed by the varsity contest at 8 PM.
