TC GIRLS BASKETBALL SWEEPS INDIAN CREEK. Triton Central’s varsity girls basketball team picked up an important Hoosier Legends Conference road win Saturday night, defeating Indian Creek 61–48. The Tigers edged ahead 16–15 after the first quarter and built a 33–24 halftime lead behind a strong second-quarter run. Indian Creek battled back to make it a five-point game at 48–43 heading into the fourth, but Triton Central closed strong to secure the 13-point victory. Maryrose Felling led all scorers with 28 points. Layla Compton added nine points, while Quinn King and Kate Collier each finished with eight. Rylee Pruitt chipped in seven points, and Cheyenne Allen rounded out the scoring with one. With the win, Triton Central improves to 15–3 on the season and 3–1 in Hoosier Legends Conference play. In the junior varsity contest, Triton Central pulled away in the second half to earn a 43–23 victory over Indian Creek. After a 14–14 tie at halftime, the Tigers erupted for 17 points in the third quarter to take control of the game. Anna Kemper led the JV squad with 16 points, while Eliana Joy added eight. Peyton Fillippinie scored five, and Ryn West, Rylee Pruitt, Madison Swisher, and Kenzie Hoover rounded out the scoring. The TC JV team is now 13–5 on the year. Triton Central will be back on the road Tuesday night, traveling to Greenwood. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 6 PM, followed by the varsity contest at 7 PM.
