TC BOYS BASKETBALL BEATS HERITAGE CHRISTIAN, JV LOSES. Triton Central’s varsity boys basketball team leaned on a huge night from senior Eli Sego to pull away late and defeat Heritage Christian 58–41 Friday night at Triton Central. The Tigers edged ahead 7–6 after the first quarter and carried an 18–13 lead into halftime. Heritage Christian stayed within striking distance through three quarters, trimming the margin to 33–31 heading into the final period. From there, Triton Central turned up the defensive pressure and went on a decisive run to close out the game, outscoring Heritage Christian 25–10 in the fourth quarter. Sego put on a scoring clinic, pouring in 34 points to lead all players and spark the late surge. Henry Kemper and Chace Calderone added six points apiece, while Jackson Faust, Grant Long, and Brayden Hoover each chipped in four. With the victory, Triton Central improves to 11–2 on the season. In the junior varsity contest, Heritage Christian pulled away late to hand Triton Central a 44–35 loss. The Tigers led 13–10 after the first quarter and 22–20 at halftime before Heritage Christian took a slim 32–31 lead into the fourth and finished strong. Chace Calderone led the JV squad with nine points, while Dominic Moore, Landon Bailey, and Owen Hornberger each scored seven. Dylan Showalter added three points and Jayden Abplanalp finished with two. The TC JV team is now 8–3 on the year. Triton Central will be back at home Saturday night, hosting Indianapolis Lutheran. The junior varsity game is set for 6 PM, followed by the varsity contest at 7:30 PM.
